Piece for children ages 7 to 11 (1st – 6th grades) and their teacher, in their own classroom
Running time: 60 min.
En classe is a piece unlike any other: it takes place inside the classroom and is created by the children themselves. With their teacher they create this work, thanks to the instructions they will hear in special audio-guides. A dancer and a technician are also part of this experiment, which is a fun disruption of the daily routine of the class. It becomes a stage laboratory in which each participant may play with the ingredients of a dance piece, including dance, of course, but also the setting and the observation of others ... The idea is not just to follow instructions but to be the creator of one’s own movement, to work with one’s sensations and imagination, transforming one’s reality and introducing a certain poetry into it.
Underscoring this creation is the idea of bringing the creative act into the heart of society, allowing ourselves to reflect more about the body’s place in places such as a school, in order to encourage and validate the imagination of the body, as well as the creativity and the construction of the sensibility of the child.
